Anyone who has lived with cats, especially adult cats, has probably dealt with hairballs. There is just no way to accurately describe the feeling of stepping on a hairball in your bare feet first thing in the morning.

But, as disgusting as a hairball may be, it comes about because of our cats’ healthy grooming habits. 

Usually, hairballs are a normal part of a cat’s life. However, there are times when you should be concerned. If you cat is lethargic, not eating, and has had some unproductive retching sessions, then you should get her seen by a veterinarian.
